Akamai is the CDN market leader in terms of revenues and has been around since 1998. Akamai's EdgePlatform is one of the world's largest distributed computing platforms. 127,000 servers in 1,150 networks across 81 countries handle a significant portion of the world's Web traffic. Customers include Adobe, NBC, Philips and Nintendo.
Akamai has more than 1000 POPs, located all over the world including continents like South-America, Africa and Middle-East. Because of the massive number of POPs, we feel it makes no sense to present a network map of the Akamai CDN.
Pricing & Contract duration
Akamai does not publish pricing information on their website. They want to work with every customer to create a custom contract that meets the customer's needs.
|Pricing & Contract duration|
|Price US/EU traffic - low volume||Not Available|
|Price US/EU traffic - high volume||Not Available|
|Extra charge for APAC region traffic||Not Available|
Note: custom price plans are very common in the CDN market, especially for large volume customers. We recommend you always talk to the CDN provider about your needs and requirements and work with them to get a best-fit deal.
